When set up in 2008 as a 3 year EC project SARNISSA had partners in three regional african countries West Africa Cameroon East Africa Kenya Southern Africa Malawi . It also had European UK partner CABI.
Since 2011 and the end of EC funding these organisations were no longer budgeted to contribute to the project. However William Leschen initially working at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, UK, and now as an independent aquaculture consultant continued to run and develop SARNISSA from 2011 to the present day. During this period the SARNISSA network has continued to grow to now have over 6,100 Followers to its daily updated SARNISSA Facebook site, and over 3,500 registered members benefitting from the SARNISSA email discussion fora – English, French, and Portuguese languages……….
